While an initial version of the “Surface Explorer” could only be used with AR glasses, the latest version of this intuitive web-based application can now be used by anyone online – and not just in the traditional way on a laptop or PC, but also anywhere via a tablet or cell phone. Specifically, this gives users a much more emotive and fun approach to Continental’s surface solutions, as they can move through a virtual building and “customize” various elements such as windows, front doors, floors, and furniture. This means that the user can choose from different colors, grains, and decors for the respective objects in order to then obtain an overall impression of the products – and the results are extremely realistic. 

The surfaces are shown in different lighting conditions, and the zoom feature allows the user to get very close and see the surface structures for themselves. New customers also get a comprehensive overview of the variety of surface materials in use.
