Backlit Facade Gives Rise to Enthusiasm

New colors for windows, various options for facades and a special cross-printing process for front doors – Continental Exterior Films presented these innovations at the trade fair.

“More Options. More Style. More Home.” – That was the theme under which Continental Exterior Films showcased several exciting new products for windows, façades, and doors at the Fensterbau Frontale trade show in Nuremberg. At the center of the presentation was the broad range of design possibilities made possible with high-quality exterior surface solutions.

One major focus was the variety of façade design options. The display featured cassettes, panel, and slat-style finishes, illustrating the creative flexibility of modern façade systems. A standout highlight—alongside a travertine-inspired finish in the rear communications area — was a façade installation with integrated backlighting.

“Our translucent display featuring the Conti® woodec décor in Turner Oak Toffee was especially popular with visitors and encouraged many to stop and take a closer look,” said Rainer Irouschek, Head of Region EMEA Exterior Living.

New color options for system components were also introduced. For the Conti® mattex product line, these included natural, earthy tones such as “Chestnut Brown” and “Clay”. Matte surfaces pair perfectly with the woodgrain decors from Conti® woodec. Continental also debuted the new “Tropea Horizon Almond” décor at Fensterbau Frontale. This design features a specialized printing process that allows large wood-effect surfaces to be produced in landscape orientation for doors.

The result is new design possibilities for entryways, enabling front doors to feature woodgrain finishes that appear as if they were crafted from a single piece of wood.
The harmonious combination of matte surfaces and natural wood looks creates an inviting, comfortable aesthetic. After all, a sense of home doesn’t begin when you step through the front door—it starts outside, with thoughtfully designed windows, doors, and façades.

Visitors to the booth were able to experience this unique Continental “More Home” feeling not only through the product displays, but also in the spacious hospitality area. Designed entirely with Continental exterior products, the lounge provided a welcoming space for conversations and networking. “We’re delighted with the strong attendance at our booth throughout the show,” said Andreas Grüb, Head of Product Management Exterior Living. “We made many valuable connections that we look forward to developing further.”
