Budma 2025: Continental Focuses on the Topics of Homeliness and Application Diversity

From the windows to the façade – everything that makes up the envelope of a building was the central theme at budma in Poznań, Poland, from February 11 to 14, 2025. Surface expert Continental was one of 600 exhibitors from a total of 27 countries. The company’s trade fair appearance focused on the topics of homeliness and application diversity in combination with design.

Home is not just the place we return to every day after work, school or university. It is a special social space in which a sense of “wellbeing” plays a fundamental role. This sensation is achieved when colors, furniture, materials and surfaces all fit together perfectly. This is why Continental places great importance on harmoniously blending design and function in its products when developing its Exterior Films. And this is exactly what the visitors at budma were able to see for themselves in person at the beginning of February in Poznań, Poland. Continental’s tagline for this year’s trade fair – “...and it feels like home” – reflected a holistic approach that was brought to life at its stand, where the products impressively demonstrated their flexibility and were presented in diverse applications. Continental Exterior Films were displayed in a conventional way on window profiles, as well as on facade panels and raised flower beds, showcasing a harmonious combination of industrial chic and nature that picks up on the “homeliness” trend.

This trade fair concept was a success. The MTP Group presented Continental with the ACANTHUS AUREUS Award, which is bestowed on exhibitors who best align the vision of their exhibition stand with the company’s marketing strategy. The award recognizes the best architectural and graphic solutions that facilitate direct communication with customers and emphasize the exhibitor’s positive image at the trade fair.

In addition to the premium products – Conti® Woodec and Conti® Mattex – the technology company also presented the new product Conti® Mattex Shine. “This surface was very well received,” says Nina Feger, product manager for the Exterior Living department at Continental. “It was particularly popular in the color beige.”

Visitors to budma also had the chance to view the products and the various decors in a special virtual way using the Surface Explorer. This immersive web-based 3D tool allows customers to playfully move through different rooms in a house featuring Continental products. A wide variety of elements such as window frames, upholstery fabrics and furniture surfaces can be adjusted in terms of their appearance, i.e. decor and/or color, and also visualized under different lighting conditions.

Continental also presented its cool colors® technology at budma. This technology enables the use of dark colors and decors on plastic window profiles without them heating up excessively. Visitors to the stand were able to see the effectiveness of the technology for themselves thanks to a live presentation. “budma was a good start to the trade fair year for us,” says Feger. “We were able to hold lots of valuable discussions with experts from the industry and make promising new contacts.”
