Welcome to Weißbach – the outdoor kitchen finds its new home

In March of this year, the outdoor kitchen was presented as a highlight exhibit at Continental’s booth at the “Fensterbau Frontale” trade fair. It has now found its new home. Where? On the Continental company premises in Weißbach, right next to its big brother, the ContiHome.

For most people, barbecues and summer belong together just as much as sand and sea. And now that the temperature is finally getting warmer and the days are getting longer, there is nothing standing in the way of the first barbecue of the season with friends and family. The perfect partner for this is the outdoor kitchen. Continental presented this special piece of furniture at the “Fensterbau Frontale” trade fair in March – and it was a sizzling success.

The piece was designed and manufactured at the company’s location in Weißbach. There, the Design Center developed the concept and look of the outdoor kitchen – inspired by the ContiHome – while a group of trainees manufactured the steel frame. The project therefore brought together creative minds from many different areas.

But what makes the outdoor kitchen with sink and built-in barbecue so special? Well, first of all, it can be used outside, removing the boundary between indoor and outdoor space. And this is thanks to its materials. To ensure that the outdoor kitchen can withstand all weathers, its fronts and sides are clad with the Conti® woodec surface in the “Tropea Oak almond” design, a stylish wood decor with a slat-like appearance. “Thanks to Conti® woodec, the fronts of our outdoor kitchen have a very high-quality and homely look. Real wood materials are very difficult to use in outdoor kitchens. Our product has the look and therefore the value of wood, but it doesn’t age or weather,” explains Rainer Irouschek, head of the Exterior Living business unit at Continental, summarizing why Continental exterior products are perfectly suited to furniture such as outdoor kitchens.

After celebrating its debut at the “Fensterbau Frontale” trade fair in March, the outdoor kitchen has now found its new home on the plant premises in Weißbach. Where exactly? Right next to its big brother, the ContiHome, of course – after all, the design of the outdoor kitchen is heavily inspired by the TinyHouse. Together they now form the perfect duo and nothing stands in the way of a barbecue after work.
