CSI Europe 2025: Hamburg becomes the capital of the cruise industry
From the St. Pauli Piers to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall right on the water – as a Hanseatic city visited by some 7,000 ships every year, Hamburg is the perfect venue to host the Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe. The trade fair is set to take place for the first time in Germany on December 3 and 4, 2025, and will transform the city into the international capital of the cruise industry. And, of course, Continental will be there to present its latest product innovations for this sophisticated, discerning market.
“Cruise in style – with skai®” – is the tagline for this year’s Continental trade fair appearance at the CSI Europe in Hamburg, at Stand B52. As a surface specialist, Continental will focus on its upholstery fabrics, which impress not only indoors, but also outdoors and, thanks to the countless functional benefits they offer, are an invitation to sunbathe and relax without a care in the world.
Also on board – for visitors to see and experience up close – are the materials skai® Misuna EN, skai® Tovega EN, and skai® Toronto EN: a stylish trio, each of which is the perfect combination of look, feel and functionality.
skai® Misuna EN promises sunshine, even when it’s windy or raining
The latest addition to the extensive skai® product portfolio is skai® Misuna EN, specially created for outdoor use. Whether covering stools at the on-deck bar or the loungers by the pool – this durable and stylish new upholstery material is a reliable partner. Available in a wide range of colors and with a modern textile grain, the material meets all relevant requirements, while also offering a harmonious combination of trendy look and pleasant feel.
Carefree – thanks to staynu technology
Another highly expressive candidate for use in restaurants, bars etc. on board luxury cruise liners is skai® Tovega EN. This upholstery material shows off its advantages – such as a fine micropore look – in 38 colors, while also impressing with its innovative staynu technology, which makes the material extremely dirt-resistant and very easy to clean. Little wonder, therefore that it’s an effective partner on cruises: thanks to this special surface finish, stains don’t stand a chance – no matter whether wine gets spilled in the restaurant or gravy ends up on the furniture.
Continental’s third elegant travel companion on the high seas is skai® Toronto EN, which also features our innovative staynu technology. As a classic in the skai® range of products, this material impresses with its signature leather grain that blends harmoniously into a wide variety of interiors. And the upholstery material is now available in 13 new trendy colors, ranging from golden yellow to ocean blue – hues which could hardly be better suited to cruise ship settings.
