Premiere: Continental Exhibits at Design Shanghai for the First Time

Striking visuals, exceptional haptics and innovative technologies – Continental demonstrates how it harmoniously combines all three elements in its diverse surface solutions at Design Shanghai from 19 to 22 March 2026. Under the motto “skai® is more than a surface”, visitors will gain comprehensive insights into the entire skai® portfolio. This means that at booth WG-96, guests can experience both the premium upholstery materials and high-quality furniture films up close – because the booth has been designed specifically to allow visitors to truly “get in touch” with the materials. The goal: shaping the future together with customers. 

But it’s not only about extraordinary designs and unique textures. The materials’ inner qualities also take center stage – their performance, durability, resistance and innovative strength. In other words, Continental’s intelligent technologies come into play, enhancing surface materials to be particularly abrasion-resistant, dirt-repellent or light-resistant. 

Among them, skai® Toronto EN and skai® Tovega EN highlight staynu® technology, a special surface finish that makes materials extremely resistant to staining and exceptionally easy to clean. Even wine, ketchup, ballpoint pen ink and more stand no chance against this advanced protection. 

In addition, alongside the new outdoor material skai® Misuna EN, the cool colors technology is also in the spotlight. It ensures that even dark surfaces do not heat up excessively in sunlight, delivering lasting comfort – whether in a restaurant, on a poolside lounger or aboard a yacht at sea. 

The technology trio is rounded off by laif® technology, which makes materials breathable and air-permeable, enabling exceptional seating comfort paired with high durability and a long lifespan.
